Redding Garden of Lights
Each winter, the Redding Garden of Lights transforms Turtle Bay Exploration Park and the iconic Sundial Bridge into a glowing, immersive wonderland along the Sacramento River in Redding, California, generously presented by Mercy Medical Center Redding.
More than two million twinkling lights bring the McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens to life with color, movement, and magic. Guests stroll through luminous tunnels, under sparkling trees, and past shimmering garden beds, all while enjoying the peaceful beauty of the natural landscape. The towering Sundial Bridge, lit up in vibrant hues, provides a stunning centerpiece to the experience and a perfect backdrop for holiday memories.
New of 2025 • Turtle Express Ride
One of the newest additions to the event is the Turtle Express, a festive miniature train ride that takes guests on a scenic journey through a glowing forest of lights. Visitors can also explore an impressive Model Train town, with intricate details and tiny locomotives weaving through illuminated landscapes, delighting kids and collectors alike.
Also in the gardens are the beloved Glowing Swings, inviting guests to relax and sway beneath cascading lights, adding a touch of playful magic to the night. Throughout the event, artfully designed displays inspired by native plants and animals create a connection between the garden’s natural beauty and the holiday spirit.

Guests looking to elevate their experience can reserve a Private Igloo nestled right within the heart of the light show. Each cozy, festively decorated igloo includes admission for up to eight guests, plus two large Mosaic pizzas and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks, making it a perfect option for families or small gatherings.
