When is Redding Garden of Lights happening?

Redding Garden of Lights, presented by Dignity Health - Mercy Medical Center Redding, will be open to the public from November 17, 2023 through January 7, 2024. The Redding Garden of Lights will be open Wednesday - Sunday, and will be closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Where is Redding Garden of Lights happening?

Redding Garden of Lights is taking place inside the McConnell Botanical Gardens at Turtle Bay adjacent to the Sundial Bridge and Sacramento River at 844 Sundial Bridge Drive, Redding, California.

What will Redding Garden of Lights consist of?

Redding Garden of Lights features over one million lights on display throughout 10 acres of curated botanical gardens filled with festive and animated light displays. The festival includes fire pits and s’mores, holiday-themed food and beverage stations, synchronized music animations, and many more features. 

The entire experience begins with a walk across the world-famous Sundial Bridge spanning across the Sacramento River. A path leads guests to the garden entrance and courtyard, featuring holiday-themed food & beverages for the entire family. Explore the winding paths, enjoy the music, see the sights, take photos, and have a wonderful holiday experience!


Are pets allowed at Redding Garden of Lights?

Except for service dogs, pets are not allowed inside the Redding Garden of Lights event. Dogs are permitted outside of the event on the Sundial Bridge and surrounding Sacramento River Trail.

Who is operating the Redding Garden of Lights?

Turtle Bay Exploration Park is the owner and operator of Redding Garden of Lights. Turtle Bay is a non-profit organization that raises funds for ongoing educational programming, gardens’ care, museum exhibitions, wildlife care, and more.

Who is the Redding Garden of Lights for?

The Redding Garden of Lights is for everyone, including local residents, Turtle Bay Members, and traveling tourists with a special attention to being family-friendly. 

The Sundial Bridge and Sacramento River Trail remains open and free to the public to enjoy year-round.


 

Who designed the Redding Garden of Lights displays?

The Redding Garden of Lights was designed by Tres Fromme Design, a leading designer in botanical gardens and seasonal displays with over 15 years of experience. 

 
 

Will there be food and beverages available?

The Redding Garden of Lights will offer a wide variety of food and beverage options for all ages served by Mosaic Restaurant on location of the event.

How is the Redding Garden of Lights funded? 

The Redding Garden of Lights is funded by local grants and donations from community partners, including the presenting sponsor, Dignity Health - Mercy Medical Center Redding. Founding support can be attributed to The Redding City Identity Project, City of Redding, Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce, Visit Redding, The Sheraton Redding Hotel at the Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, and many more. Funds donated from the City of Redding for the Redding Garden of Lights in 2020 and 2021 are designated for tourism purposes.

Are group tickets available for Redding Garden of Lights?

Yes, groups of 50 or more may purchase tickets at a discount rate, please click link below for group rates and information.


Are masks required at the Redding Garden of Lights? 

Our organization is committed to following all Shasta County health and safety guidelines for outdoor spaces. Please contact guest services prior to arrival with any special medical needs your group may require.
